Inside Look: Beauty Bag

I don't really have an obsession with one certain makeup brand or beauty product brand {to be honest, I'd rather spend my hard earned dollars on new clothes, shoes or accessories} but I thought I'd share some of my current favorites. I wear the same makeup and use the same products virtually everyday, but I have some great ones that you may like to know about!

First thing's first, I got this makeup bag for Christmas {after I spotted it at a Lily store in the Outer Banks called the Pink Palm - Mom obviously took some mental notes :)...and I thank her for that} I absolutely love it! It's durable, colorful, and the perfect size to fit all my products, even when I travel.

So here are a few of my favorite products of the moment:

Since I have been highlighting my hair a light blond for many years, my hair is somewhat damaged by the bleach. After hearing great things about Moroccan Oil, I decided to give it a try to tame my sometimes dry, fine, long hair. I put it in while my hair is still wet and then blow-dry. It smells amazing and leaves my hair soft and smooth without being oily. I might have to try the shampoo/conditioner products from them next.
I'm quickly becoming a Kiehl's Skin Care product enthusiast. I have finicky skin and I'm always looking for cleansers and moisturizers that are fresh, clean, and light that don't leave my skin feeling oily or dry. I started using this moisturizer and then fell in love with the foaming cleanser as well. This Acai collection is all organic and is designed to help clear skin of impurities but also protect skin against oxidative damage to skin's tone, texture, and elasticity. I wish I had an unlimited budget to spend on Kiehl's products, they're worth the extra dollars.

So I don't have crazy undereye circles or anything major; but nonetheless, this concealer from Benefit Cosmetics is a miracle worker. Seriously - the best. I put it on trouble spots and under my eyes before a light foundation to provide a little bit of extra coverage. I highly recommend it. Again, wishing I had the freedom to blow lots of money on Benefit products because they're great.
Bronzer and blush are some of my favorite makeup products because they provide a touch a warmth for your skin no matter what time of year it is. Two of my favorites right now are from MAC

I use their Sheertone Shimmer Blush in the color Tom Foolery. It's a shimmery plum color and it's my favorite blush out of all I've had up to this point.

I also like to brush a sheer bronzer over my cheekbones to highlight and brighten the places on my face where the sun would hit. Right now I'm using the Mineralized Skinfinish in Medium Deep - also from MAC.
I'm very picky about fragrances. I don't like anything overwhelming or strong, but I do love to try out new fresh scents when I get bored. The newest perfume I've been using is Coach's new scent Poppy. It's perfect for Spring and is described as a mix of fruity and floral with a fun and flirty vibe. It's a great scent for casual or formal use. Isn't the branding for this adorable?

Are there any products that are a part of your morning beauty routine that you are loving at the moment?

I've been an avid user of Burberry Brit but for Christmas I got CoCo Chanel and love it!

Also I've been using Urban Decay from sephora on my eye lids and the shadow includes great colors to go from day to night!

Everyday I use Aveeno Nourish and Style smoothing cream on my hair...would recommend it to anyone as a budget-friendly tool that does the same thing for your hair as the Moroccan Oil. Obviously still not as cheap as say Garnier's brand of hair serum, but a great happy medium between the cheap stuff that doesn't work and the really expensive oil!

Urban Decay does have great eyeshadow colors - I need to update in the eyshadow/liner department for spring!
